How to Keep Students Returning to Your Studio Year After Year
If you’re a dance studio owner, the number one business question you probably grapple with on a daily basis is how to maximize RETENTION.
How can I keep my students coming back month after month, year after year?!
It’s a question I get asked often.
My experience over the years has taught me a few things about retention, which I’m happy to share with you:
- Love your students – if you’re not in it for the kids, you’re probably in the wrong business! I make it a point to learn my students’ names, interests and develop a personal relationship with them as much as possible. I love chatting with students and parents before and after class and I know this helps to build a connection.
- Develop and maintain a positive environment – if your students love coming to class because they feel supported, valued and inspired you can be sure that they’ll ask their parents if they can return year after year.
- Be unique – with lots of dance studios out there, doing something different and creative will set you apart from the crowd. With word of mouth being a huge driver of business (especially in the world of social media!), if you can develop a reputation for being special, your battle is more than halfway won!
Happy dancing!
